Hiroshima
Hiroshima, tragically famous for being the victim of the 1945's atomic bomb, has a number of monuments and memorials (Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum) that reminds us of this gloomy day. You can still see the dome, that remained despite the impact.
Nevertheless, Hiroshima remains a culturally and artistically rich city, and its Contemporary Art Museum, built by architect Kisho Kurokawa, will fulfill your art desires after your Naoshima's trip.
The museum launches many fascination temporary exhibitions revolving around talented artists. You will also be able to enjoy one the Hiroshima bay evening cruises from which you can admire the city lights between the mountains. In the south part of town, have a walk in the beautiful Japanese garden Shukkei-en which construction started in 1620, a real haven of peace in the middle of the city.
