Okunojima
Okunojima Island belongs to the town of Takehara, in the Hiroshima prefecture. It is close to Omishima Islands, on the Shimanami Kaido road. Its surface is really small, and as it is only 4 kilometer long, it takes up to only 2 hours to go around the island. Lots of tourists, Japanese and foreign, come to visit the island to see the numerous rabbits that live on this small part of Earth. Therefore, Okunojima has been given the nickname of "The Rabbit Island". Nobody knows precisely why there are so many rabbits on the island, but some says that an old toxic gaz factory of the Japanese Army to be there during the War in which they were using the rabbits served as guinea pigs. Then, in the 1970s, some kids from the school nearby would have released 8 rabbits. Nowadays, there is supposedly up to around 700 or 1000 rabbits, which is considered a strong symbol of fertility.
Therefore, you can have fun feeding the rabbits. Please be aware tht you have to prepare the food to give them, as rabbits are wild animals which alimentary customs should be considered and respected.
