Ogijima
From Megishima, it only takes 20 minutes by the "Meongo" ferry to go to Ogijima. The island was nicknamed "labyrinth island" because of its narrow alleys made with many stone walls and its complicated map. We recommend you to rent an electric bicycle for going around on the island. In fact, there is no flat ground and the stone walls are piled up for sustaining the houses on the slopes. This zone is also the site of Setouchi art festival so you will find many art works in the village.
There are for example, "Ogijima's soul" by Jaume Plensa at the entrance of the ferry port, or "Walking Ark" by Keisuke Yamaguchi, and "Memory Bottle" by Mayumi Kuri.
