Wazuka-cho,which is located at the southern edge of Kyoto prefecture, famous as the hometown of Uji Tea, accounts for approximately half of the production from Kyoto prefecture. As the landscape in Wazuka-cho has been made over 800 years by tea-production and their scenic view is incomparably beautiful, it was designated and registered as the first of the Scenic Property of Kyoto Prefecture. It was also registered as one of the Japan Heritage in 2015.Wazuka is a place where you can feel the beautiful nature as well as meet nice peple. Let’s stroll in one of the most important Uji tea plantation of the Wazuka area. Here there is one of the biggest high-end green tea production of entire Japan. The tea cultivation is part of daylife of Wazuka inhabitants, and you will be amazed by the beautiful scenery of the grower’s tea fields around you. Moreover, you will be surprised by the wonderful nature while admiring the forest, the mountains and rivers too. The landscape is incredible every season, so come and enjoy it !

Tea picking Expérience (May - June except rainy day)

Tea Pickiging Experience is the most popular among all. There are two seasons fro tea picking seperately in May –June and September-October. Tea is considered to be picked by hands but now in Japan cut by machine has become the main trend.The form of tea picking by hand is applied in the first grade Gyokuro Macha 、tea contest、tea picking event and so on. It’s available to have tea picking experience in Wazuka,but in the busy seasons tea farmers may not meet your requirements.We hope you can understand .According to the hope of tourists experience liike tea girl cosplay.

Japanese Tea Lessons ~ How to Make the TEA ~ (july-april, rainy day between May - June)

Wazuka is the birthplace of the delicisous Uji tea. Here you could receive instructions from the producers of the region about how to prepare it. Usually, we make tea unconsciously. Nowadays, more and more people drink tea in tea bags and forget the true way to brew it in the teapot properly. Learn about how to do it at best following the explanations of the producers and discover all the secrets about its production. The tea lessons are becoming more and more popular and we always hear the people being surprised about its unique taste and the manner to prepare it.

Shopping at Wazuka-cha Café 

"Wazuka-cha café" is a direct sell point for the tea producers in the area. Here we find many kinds of tea, from the tea we use to drink everyday to a special high range selection of tea that we can buy for reasonnable price. What about enjoy a tea or coffee set and taste cakes and sweets made with Wazuka tea ?
 

Tea ceremony  experience : sâdo

Experience together tea ceremony, in a chashitsu (a room dedicated to tea ceremony), or outside (“Nodate” in Japanese); we will observe a particular tea preparation named “Otemae” that is only made during the “Urasenke” tea ceremony style. Then, you could prepare matcha tea on your own. We will learn how to taste “Okashi” (traditional Japanese pastries) with the tea. Tea ceremony is a unique and important moment between the host (who welcome) and the guest ( who enjoy the tea). During the preparation, plenty of images will unfold in front of your eyes, you will listen to the sound of the Kama (small container where the tea is prepared), you will smell the sweet aroma of the tea before enjoying it. Stimulate your senses and enjoy this deep sensation.Departure from Wazuka village & return back to Kyoto. The tour ends at Kyoto station.

Possibility to get off at Fushimi-inari shrine on the way back to Kyoto

Excursion finish at around 18h30 at Kyoto station, but on the way back to Kyoto staion, it is possible also possble to get off at Inari station located in front of the entrance of Fushimi inari shrine. The sanctuary is also accessible by night, the path being lightening beautifully, you can enjoy a very pleasant stroll without being worried by the closing time. Unlike visiting it by day, there are less visitors, and you can still find food and souvenir shops around.
There is the masterpiece of the thousand torii (front guard frame painted in vermilion) that line up from the main Okumiya pavilion to Okusha, but in reality there would be 800. However, it is said that there are more than 10,000 torii in all sanctuaries dedicated to the god Inari.
These torii are offerings by individuals, companies or families to grant their wishes and such a custom can date back to the Edo period, the number of torii continue to grow until now.
It is possible to access the sanctuary also at night, the site is lighten up all night long which relieves you from worrying closing hours. You can also enjoy a short two-hour hike of about four kilometers, called "Oyama Meguri (a tour of Mount Inari)" for the person who is more athletic.Return details from Fushimi-inari shrine :
