If the weather is good, you can see the most sacred mountain in Japan from Tokyo. Even 100km away, its majestic appearance is still impressive.
If you're staying in Tokyo for a while or get sick of noise and concrete buildings of Tokyo, why not enjoy a day of respite from the day-trip cities of Mount Fuji?
What is impossible to see from far away is the beautiful ridge line that extends to the foot of the mountain.
Seeing Mount Fuji up close is an amazing experience.

In addition, there are many things to see near Lake Kawaguchi.
On the north side, you will find many views of Mount Fuji's reflection on the lake, and the sublime scenery of Mount Fuji from the scenic cable car, enjoyable bike rides at Oishi Park, Kawaguchi Ohashi Bridge across Kawaguchi Lake or the Fuji Omuro Sengen Sanctuary, World Heritage Site. At the end, you can enjoy a sake tasting at an old traditional brewery.

※In case of heavy rains that would make it impossible to ride a bike, it is possible that the excursion is canceled the day before or the same day.
※ Even in good weather, it is possible that the weather remains cloudy on Mount Fuji and it is not possible to see it.
※ Bicycles are standard type. You can choose a cross bike for 500 yen supplement, or with electric assistance with an extra 1,100 yen.  Please inform us of your request at the time of booking.

You will take the express bus, get off in front of Kawaguchi-ko station.
If the weather is nice, you can see Mount Fuji from where you get off.
After renting your bike, let's take a tour of Lake Kawaguchi at the foot of the sacred mountain.

From Kawaguchi Station (856 meters) to Fuji Midai Station (1075 meters), it takes only 3 minutes by panoramic cable car. You will have a breathtaking view of Mount Fuji and the vast panorama of Lake Kawaguchi. This Tenjoyama Summit is the setting in Kachikachiyama's tale, written by famous 20th century writers Dazai Osamu, where raccoon dog and rabbits will greet here and there. It is a spot for perfect photography and will certainly appeal to young and old. We will provide you the cable car tickets during the excursion.

※ If we can not see Mount Fuji from Mount Tenjoyama in the morning, we will go there in the second part of the tour. If it is still impossible to see Mount Fuji due to the weather, the cable car part will be canceled.

Ubuyagasaki was loved by Koyo Okada (1895-1972), a photographer known for his photo of Mount Fuji which appears on the 1,000 yen note.
This place is therefore famous for the views of Mount Fuji reflecting on the calm waters of the lake and forming a rhombus when the weather is fine.
Located near the Kawaguchiko Lake Bridge, you can appreciate Mount Fuji with the perspective of the bridge in the foreground, or take pictures from the bridge. Many professional and amateur photographers come here.

Hōtō

In Yamanashi Prefecture, local cuisine named Hōtō,which is stewing flat udon noodles (thick pasta) with vegetables and miso simmered slowly. This dish does't takes much time to prepare and is digestible as well as nutritious.
That's why this dish is popular dish as a ration during Sengoku period (the age of Provincial Wars).
Why don't you try this healthy Yamanashi cuisine with full of vegetables!

Yoshida Udon

Yoshida Udon is a traditional special dish, often served at weddings or special occasions in the Fujiyoshida region.
The thick noodles reveals a tangible taste of wheat with each bite. Soup itself is composed of cabbage and horse meat, a mixture of chilli, sesame and sansho pepper.※ Lunch is not included in this tour. Enjoy your lunch at your favorite restaurant. You can also eat by the lake if the weather permits.

On the north shore of Lake Kawaguchi, you will find out the best spot to enjoy the imaginery scene of Mount Fuji.
If the weather permits, you will see Mount Fuji reflected on the lake.
It is difficult to see the reflection of Mount Fuji in summer, but in April, cherry blossoms blooms and from June to July, we appreciate the elegant scent of the lavender in the herb festival. In November, the lake is surrounded by the kôyô (autumn leaves), we enjoy the red and yellow maples (including the momiji tunnel) and many tourists come up to enjoy the 4-seasons show.
In addition, there are many museums to visit and events to see. You can also enjoy strolling around beautiful sidewalks.

The Fuji Omuro Sengen Shrine is composed of Okumiya and Satomiya, the most sacred one, which is called Okumiya, enshrined at the second station of Mount Fuji and the one, whcih is called Satomiya, at the first base. This shrine was said to be founded over 1300 years ago and is considered the oldest sanctuary on Mount Fuji.
This shrine is dedicated to the guardian of Mount Fuji, the most beautiful goddess called Konohanasakuya-hime. So that's why the main temple pavilion faces against Mount Fuji. Main temple was formerly located in Okumiya, but as the deterioration of the building itself was so obvious that it was transferred to Satomiya near the lake.
Here worshipped as the base of the Shugendo (a Buddhist spiritual tradition millennial relationship between man and nature) in medieval, as a place for prayer for winning war during the period of Sengoku, and nowadays as a pilgrimage stage to Mount Fuji, called "Fuji-kō".
In 2013, it was designated a World Heritage Site with Lake Kawaguchi and other places around Mount Fuji.

After enjoying typical tourist attractions, let yourself be tempted by the taste of Japan!
Indeed, at the end of the tour, we will visit a Sake brewery. You will learn a lot about its preparation, will discover old photographs, and yourself will be witness of its manufacture!
After this, you will have the pleasure to taste two or three kinds of recommended sake, and learn to differentiate them.
You can bring your tasting glass back with you as a souvenir, as well as a bottle if you wish, available in the souvenir shop.

After the visit to the brewery, we will ride the bicycle and go to Kawaguchi-ko station.
Then take the bus to Shinjuku Station or Tokyo Station.
You would have a quarter to two in comfortable sleepiness thanks to several sake glass covers.

Arrive at Shinjuku or Tokyo Station around 18:00
